Une approche par les concepts pour l’EIST. Le lien invariant-concept comme accès à la transdisciplinarité

Cet article esquisse ce que pourrait être une «approche par les concepts», un parcours qui, à partir d’une démarche d’expérimentation, vise à la construction d’hypothèses et de concepts, outils indispensables à la démarche scientifique. Nous proposons d’entamer la construction des concepts par un travail sur l’invariant lié au concept. Une telle approche présente chaque concept sur la base de sa nécessité (ou de son utilité). Elle constituerait, dans le cadre de l’enseignement intégré de science et technologie (EIST) au collège, une démarche transdisciplinaire. Trois parcours possibles, dans le cadre de l’EIST, à partir du lien invariant-concept, sont présentés.
This article outlines what an «approach through the concepts» — a path which starts off with an experimental procedure and aims at building hypotheses and concepts, the indispensable tools of a scientific process. We propose to start the construction of concepts with a research of the invariant linked to the concept. Such an approach presents each concept on the basis of its necessity (or of its usefulness). It would constitute a transdisciplinary approach within the framework of Integrated Teaching of Science and Technology (EIST) in some French middle school. From the link between invariant and concept, we present here two possible paths in that framework.
