      La fibrose pulmonaire idiopathique est une maladie respiratoire mortelle se caractérisant par le dépôt excessif de tissu fibreux dans les zones alvéolaires. L’épithélium bronchiolaire a été impliqué dans le développement de cette maladie et est capable de sécréter l’IgA vers la lumière des voies aériennes grâce au récepteur des immunoglobulines polymériques. Plusieurs éléments indiquent une dérégulation de ce système, comme la majoration des taux d’IgA sériques et une action pro-fibrosante de cette immunoglobuline sur plusieurs types cellulaires clés. Nos travaux ont pour but d’élucider les mécanismes impliqués afin de mieux comprendre le rôle de l’immunité muqueuse à IgA dans cette maladie.
      [Potential implication of the IgA-pIgR system in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis]. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a lethal respiratory disease characterized by the excessive deposition of extracellular matrix in the alveolar zones. The bronchiolar epithelium has been implicated in the development of this disease and is capable of secreting IgA into the airway lumen thanks to its expression of the polymeric immunoglobulin receptor. Several elements indicate a dysregulation of this system, such as raised serum IgA levels in IPF patients and the pro-fibrotic effect of IgA on several key cell types. Our work aims at studying the underlying mechanisms so as to better understand the role of IgA mucosal immunity in this disease.
