      A bronze figurine discovered in Norfolk, eastern England, depicts a warrior on horseback armed with sword and shield. Stylistically the piece is contemporary with the royal treasures from Mound 1 at Sutton Hoo and with the material from the Staffordshire Hoard. Its military character suggests that it may have been intended for use in a strategic boardgame.
