نبذة مختصرة : Background: Tobacco use among youth in India is a major public health concern, particularly in the North-Eastern region, where prevalence rates are higher than the national average. Understanding the patterns and determinants of youth tobacco consumption in this region is essential for developing targeted interventions. Aims and Objectives: To assess the prevalence and determinants of tobacco consumption among youth in North-Eastern India. Materials and Methods: This study utilized data from the Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS), including the North-Eastern states. A comparative analysis was performed to estimate the prevalence of tobacco use (both smoking and smokeless) among school students aged ≤15 years in the North-Eastern region of India.
