      Housewives, despite forming the backbone of households and contributing significantly to social stability, often remain unrecognized for their labor. While they may not be diagnosed with clinical mental illnesses at the same rate as other populations, homemakers regularly endure chronic stress, anxiety, and emotional fatigue. This invisible burden stems from their unquantified domestic work, lack of recognition, and limited awareness of mental health issues. These conditions can gradually foster feelings of depression, exhaustion, vulnerability, and compromised well-being. The Delhi NCR region, with its dense urban structure, rising cost of living, and evolving family dynamics, provides a unique setting to study these challenges. The pressures of balancing family expectations, childcare, and household responsibilities — all without formal acknowledgment — amplify the risks of diminished Quality of Life (QoL). In this light, meditation emerges as a low-cost, accessible, and culturally familiar intervention. With growing evidence supporting its benefits in reducing anxiety, improving emotional regulation, and enhancing resilience, meditation provides a promising avenue to address homemakers’ well-being. The study therefore seeks to bridge the gap in scholarly understanding of how mindfulness and meditation influence the QoL of housewives. Pandemic Context The COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 intensified stressors for housewives. Lockdowns and disruptions in social and economic life placed disproportionate responsibilities on them, heightening emotional and mental strain. The study specifically recognizes the pandemic as a turning point that magnified challenges while simultaneously pushing many women to explore meditation and mindfulness practices as coping strategies.
