نبذة مختصرة : The operating room is a particular environment where the use of artificial light is ubiquitous. However, it has been demonstrated that it can have a psychological and physiological impact on the professionals. Thus far, no study has been conducted among surgical teams, which leads us to the following question : How does exposure to artificial light affect the perception of quality of work life for people working in the operating room ? The main purpose of this study is to identify the factors related to exposure to artificial light that influence wellbeing and quality of work life in the operating room. To conduct this survey, a cross-sectional qualitative study based on questionnaires was carried out in two healthcare establishments : the University Hospital of Cavale Blanche in BREST and the Mutualist Clinic of Porte de l’Orient in LORIENT. In total, 24 surgeons and 51 nurses/operating room nurses answered the questionnaire. Thus, we were able to identify various factors influencing quality of life which could be addressed. The presence of openings to the outside significantly enhances the well-being of healthcare professionals (p=1,2-4), as does the luminous atmosphere (p=1,2-5). Having windows positively influences concentration (p=2,1-12) and mood (p=6-5) of the worker. As for the glaring effect and visual fatigue, they appera to be correlated with overall brightness (p7,5-9), considered moderate for 33 of them. Operating rooms with satisfactory lighting quality for professionals appear to be beneficail for their well-being, mood, and concentration. However, it is necessary to provide training on light settings for the operating staff in order to limit perceived visual disturbances and thus improve overall quality of work life. ; Le bloc opératoire est un environnement particulier où l’utilisation de la lumière artificielle est omniprésente.
