This study aims to explore the relationship between anxiety severity and pregnancy stress in women who were vaccinated for COVID-19 during the pandemic and later became pregnant, based on the hypothesis that they might perceive potential negative effects of the vaccine. This descriptive correlational study was conducted with 302 pregnant women between November 2023 and June 2024. Data were collected using a Personal Information Form, the Anxiety Severity Scale (ASS), and the Pregnancy Stress Scale (PSS). For normally distributed data, the Student’s t-test was used for comparisons between two groups, while one-way ANOVA and the Bonferroni test were applied for comparisons involving three or more groups. For non-normally distributed data, the Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test, and Dunn test were used, respectively. Relationships between variables were assessed using Pearson and Spearman correlation analyses. The average age of the participants was 28.56±5.02 years, and the average gestational week was 27.16±8.16, with 71.5% having received live vaccines and 28.5% having received inactivated vaccines. The average score for the ASS was 14.00±5.00 (moderate level), while the average score for the PSS was 62.30±25.61 (moderate level). A positive correlation was found among all sub-dimensions of the PSS. Significant relationships were identified between the severity of anxiety and pregnancy stress in women who were vaccinated for COVID-19 during the pandemic and later became pregnant. It was particularly noted that gestational week and income status had an impact on the sub-dimensions of pregnancy stress.
