      Objective: to develop an analytical framework based on a brief historical overview of the teaching and learning processes of Martial Arts and Combat Sports (LAMEC) in Brazil, analyzing the influence of international references in their constitution, as well as the pathways, processes, and propositions for this field. Methodology: The scientific production on LAMEC and the international influences that shaped their debate in Brazil were analyzed. Results and discussion: The results showed that since the 1990s, there has been an increase in work focused on the legitimacy of LAMEC and how they could integrate Physical Education. The development of LAMEC can be organized into three phases: the first, "search for legitimacy," aimed to make such practices possible to be thematized in Physical Education. The second, "dissemination," involved an increase in proposals based on analyses of LAMEC teaching in various contexts. The third, "search for paradigm shifts," explored new ways of structuring LAMEC teaching considering contemporary demands. Conclusion: It is concluded that LAMEC has been consolidated as important bodily practices in Physical Education, highlighting the need for propositions that foster transformations in teaching and learning methods for all audiences and practice contexts. ; Objetivo: desarrollar un marco analítico basado en una breve panorámica histórica sobre los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje de las Artes Marciales y Deportes de Combate (LAMEC) en Brasil, analizando la influencia de referentes internacionales en su constitución, así como los caminos, procesos y proposiciones para este campo. Metodología: Se analizó la producción científica sobre LAMEC y las influencias internacionales que moldearon su debate en Brasil.
