نبذة مختصرة : The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has revised the Childcare and Family Care Leave Act to enable men and women to balance work and childcare, adding telework as an alternative measure to reduced working hours. This study investigated the impact of telework on the division of household chores and childcare among dual-income households with children under the age of 10, conducting a semi-structured interview survey targeting such couples (n=14). The analysis revealed that the division of household chores and childcare can be categorized into three types: “traditional gender role division,” “efficiency-oriented,” and “responsibility and values-oriented.” The telework system appears useful under specific conditions for couples in the “efficiency-oriented” category. ; departmental bulletin paper
