Tennis records

The Tennis collection contains various records, programs, photographs and related materials, 1930s-present. Also included are DePauw Alumni Tennis Association (DATA) records. ; Historical Sketch; DePauw has had a strong tennis program fro decades, competing successfully against Division I opponents, winning conference championships and qualifying individuals and the team for postseason play at the nationals.; The strength of the program can be traced to the caliber of young people who are part of the DePauw team. Naturally they're fine tennis players, but they are also fierce competitors, solid students and well-rounded individuals with a variety of academic and extracurricular interests. The program is challenging, fun, dynamic and always improving.; At DePauw, the emphasis is on the team since the best team - not necessarily the best players - is the most successful. Our team concept and togetherness are fostered through hard practices, a rigorous conditioning program, occasional videotape and strategy sessions in the classroom and recreational activities such as team barbecues and basketball and soccer games.
