نبذة مختصرة : Morocco has much work ahead of it in wisely managing scarce water resources. Significant initiatives in sustainable development (the Green Morocco plan) and renewable energy (the Green Generation program) have been implemented throughout the nation, and these initiatives have an impact on water use. This chapter examined the effects of these initiatives on Morocco’s water resources. As awareness of climate change and its effects on water availability grows worldwide, this work attempts to evaluate how well sustainable efforts for water management and conservation are being implemented. The results showed that spending on renewable energy, especially solar energy, can reduce the amount of water used for cooling power plants. However, the Green Morocco Plan’s emphasis on improving agricultural productivity might encourage the growth of cash crops that require a lot of water. The anticipated increase in agricultural water consumption must be considered when comparing water savings from renewable energy sources. More work is required to encourage crop selection and irrigation techniques that reduce water scarcity. The accomplishments and difficulties of these initiatives in reducing water shortages and promoting a sustainable water future for Morocco are highlighted in this chapter. ; No Full Text
