نبذة مختصرة : La enfermedad articular degenerativa (EAD) es un trastorno que afecta a una gran cantidad de caninos alrededor de todo el mundo, una de las principales manifestaciones clínicas de esta enfermedad es el dolor, este puede ser leve, moderado o severo dependiendo del estadio de la enfermedad. La terapia analgésica es de vital importancia para el manejo del paciente con EAD, tradicionalmente se han usado antinflamatorios no esteroidales (AINES), gabapentinoides, corticoides, y opioides, pero debido a los efectos secundarios que pueden traer estos medicamentos, se han buscado terapias alternativas para el manejo del dolor, una de estas es el cannabidiol (CBD) que ha mostrado tener propiedades antiinflamatorias y analgésicas que pueden resultar de utilidad para el manejo de pacientes con enfermedad degenerativa articular y consecuentemente mejorar las manifestaciones clínicas y su calidad de vida. ; Degenerative joint disease is a disorder that affects many canines around the world, one of the main clinical manifestations of this disease is pain, which can be mild, moderate or severe depending on the stage of the disease. Analgesic therapy is of vital importance for the management of patients with osteoarthritis (OA), non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), gabapentinoids, corticosteroids, and opioids have traditionally been used, but due to the side effects that these medications can bring, alternative therapies have been sought for pain management, one of these is cannabidiol (CBD) which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties that may be useful for the management of patients with degenerative joint disease and consequently improve clinical manifestations and their quality of life. ; Incluye bibliografía ; Pregrado ; Médico(a) Veterinario ; Medicina Veterinaria
