Bridging Human Expertise and Machine Augmentation: A Hybrid Workflow for AI-Generated Risk Registers - CHOBE Conference 2025

At the CHOBE Conference 2025, we highlighted the importance of having a structured workflow for integrating AI into teaching in higher education. As part of the session, we demonstrated the creation of a risk register for a construction project, showing how an iterative workflow that incorporates critical evaluation and the use of multiple AI tools can enable students to produce outputs of a quality acceptable to industry. The presentation also explored broader philosophical and ethical dimensions of AI in education. We examined the concept of knowledge as justified belief and questioned whether AI is capable of generating new knowledge. In addition, we reflected on the ethical concerns surrounding the use of Generative AI in teaching and scholarship practice.
