نبذة مختصرة : Study 1: Few studies evaluate the impact of the stoma and the onset of psychological distress in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC), from the pre-surgical phase to the post-surgical phase in a context intercultural. The aim of this first longitudinal study is to determine the periods of the psychological distress of the Martiniquais and Toulousain patient’s, carrying a temporary or definitive stoma beforhand the conception of the stoma (Time 1: T1), to 1 months (T2), 3 months (T3) and 6 months (T4) to one year (T5) after the installation or removal of the equipment. We will observe the consequences of this distress on patient’s quality of life (QoL). Anxiety and depression are predictors of quality of life (QOL). The trajectories of psychological distress vary according to the country of origin of the patient. Study 2: Although several of research has emphasized the importance of good technical management of equipment, preoperative education, the determinants of psychosocial and stoma adaptation, and their impact on the quality of life must be demonstrated. Using a mixed, qualitative methodology, through discourse and quantitative analysis using the PAIS-SR questionnaire, an inventory of adaptive strategies was highlighted as well as their impact on quality of life. Study 3: Educational activities and therapeutic education programs (PETPs) have been demonstrated to be effective in the QOL of ostomate patients. Better self-management of the equipment is associated with a reduction in complications and a decrease in hospitalizations. Few cross-cultural studies analyze the differences in care settings with respect to patient education and its impact on quality of life. This third study aims to demonstrate the efficiency of patient education and a French Therapeutic Education program.
