Use of the curves weight x age of WHO and NCHS in the growth attendance from the suklings assisted at the clinic of child care from a reference hospital in Recife-PE ; El uso de las curvas peso x edad de la OMS y NCHS en la asistencia de crecimiento de los lactantes asistidos en la clínica de cuidado del niño de un hospital de la referencia en la ciudad de Recife-PE ; Use of the curves weight versus age in the growth attendance from the suklings assisted at the clinic of child care

Objective: To describe the growth according to the nutritional state from the suklings assisted at the clinic of child care from a reference hospital in Recife-PE , using the curves of weight X age proposed by WHO (2006) and NCHS (1977). Methods: quantitative study, descriptive, with utilization from the database of 66 handbooks of infants assisted in the period from January to July of 2007. The data were analyzed in the software EPI-INFO 6.04d, SPSS 13.0 and Excel 2003. Results: In the 1st month, the curve of WHO identified 4 (6,1%) from low weight’s cases , while the one of NCHS, only 1 (1,5%). The overweight was noticed in larger number along the 6 months, through the curve of NCHS, equaling itself to the number of cases 3 (5,2%) identified for WHO just in the sixth month. With regard to the weight when being born, among those that were born low weight (W ; Objetivo: Describir el crecimiento según el estado nutritivo de los lactantes asistidos en la clínica de cuidado del niño de un hospital de referencia en la ciudad de Recife-PE, usando las curvas de peso X edad propuesta por la OMS (2006) y NCHS (1977). Métodos: estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo, con la utilización de la base de datos de 66 prontuarios de infantes asistidos en el período de enero a julio de 2007. Los datos fueron analizados en el software EPI-INFO 6.04d, SPSS 13.0 y Aventaja 2003. Resultados: En el primero mes, la curva de la OMS identificó 4 (6,1%) de los casos de peso bajo, mientras el NCHS, sólo 1 (1,5%). El sobrepeso se notó en el mayor número a lo largo de los 6 meses, a través de la curva de NCHS, igualándose al número de casos 3 (5,2%) identificados por la OMS sólo en el sexto mes.
