Introduction: Some patients who required oxygen therapy for COVID-19 were cared for by their relatives at home with the supervision of health personnel. Objective: To describe home care for people with oxygen therapy for COVID-19 according to the experience of the family caregiver. Method: Qualitative, descriptive, exploratory study, with the participation of 15 family caregivers, with a member who received oxygen therapy at home for COVID-19. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews and processed through content analysis. Results: a) Participation of health personnel in home care: Medical consultation, medication administration, and health education, b) Family participation in home care: satisfaction of basic needs, emotional and spiritual support, c) Family anecdotes about oxygen’s supply, oxygen therapy care and post-COVID-19 respiratory therapy, d) Controversies for the application of biosafety protocols during home care. Conclusions: Home care to the patient with oxygen therapy for COVID-19 was provided privately by the health team and by the family caregiver with family support, who complied with the prescribed indications and also used home remedies, certain nutritious foods, religious beliefs according to their cultural baggage. ; Introducción: Algunos pacientes que requerían de oxigenoterapia por COVID-19 fueron atendidos por sus familiares en sus domicilios con la supervisión del personal de la salud. Método: Estudio cualitativo, descriptivo exploratorio, con la participación de 15 familiares cuidadores, con un miembro que recibió oxigenoterapia en su hogar por la COVID-19.
