نبذة مختصرة : This research aimed to evaluate the antifungal potential of the monoterpene myrtenol, both isolated and in combination with the standard antifungals amphotericin B and voriconazole, against strains of Aspergillus niger . The assays for Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC), Minimum Fungicidal Concentration (MFC), and association using the Checkerboard method were performed. Myrtenol demonstrated strong antifungal activity against all tested strains of A. niger , with a MIC value of 64 µg/mL and an MFC of 256 µg/mL, exhibiting fungicidal action. The combination of myrtenol with amphotericin B resulted in synergy and additivity, while synergy was observed when myrtenol was combined with voriconazole for the tested strain. The obtained results demonstrate the efficacy of myrtenol against Aspergillus in various tests, indicating it as an interesting alternative for the development of a drug with anti- Aspergillus potential.
