نبذة مختصرة : This article aims to show the results of a study, still partial, on the contrastive textual analysis of legal texts belonging to the textual genre power of attorney in Portuguese and Italian. This is a study permeated by the perspective of translation in the Portuguese- -Italian linguistic combination and supported by the assumptions of Intercultural Rhetoric, analysis of specialized discourse based on corpora and theories of textual genres in the view of Bhatia (1993), Miller (1994) and Adam (2017). The corpus (bilingual, comparable, of small dimensions) is composed of 40 texts in Portuguese and 40 in Italian, datable between 2008 and 2020, and was studied through multilevel analysis (Elena, 2008; Holl, 2011), examining the functional, situational, thematic, and formal-grammatical aspects of each selected text. The frequency of use of «proper» expressions and units of the selected genre was identified, comparing the occurrences of these units in Italian and Portuguese, to try to carry out an intralinguistic and interlinguistic observation of the texts, highlighting the structural, functional, linguistic, and grammatical prototypical characteristics of each corpus.
