نبذة مختصرة : International audience ; Among the energy feedback systems examined in this study, the predominant design emphasis was on the building sector, where software engineering took center stage as the driving force for sustainability, as opposed to the target for sustainability. • We observed that a significant portion of publications implemented and tested their contributions, but a relatively small subset conducted field experiments, with even fewer incorporating control groups and/or long-term postintervention monitoring to assess the sustainability of energy reductions. Additionally, our analysis revealed that there were limited publications that employed surveys in the form of questionnaires, focus groups, or interviews to gather insights from human participants. • When ICT was the target of sustainability, we found a tendency to focus on providing energy feedback to experts (developers and researchers) rather than end users which we believe outlines room for progress to emulate the awareness in the building sector.
