نبذة مختصرة : The current research project has two main axes to identify the "quichuismos" in the vocabulary of young university students and analyze their meaning and use in verbal communication at the Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo, Faculty of Education Sciences, in the first semester students of Basic Education career. This research aims to study from a lexical-semantic analysis, selecting 20 terms to show their evolution and semantic change through the collection of a linguistic corpus. The lexical-semantic study of "Quichuismos" incorporated in the speech of young university students in the city of Riobamba focuses on presenting a realistic view of the terms that are used and understood by young people in the university environment, mainly to understand the meaning of each of the terminologies. The methodology is qualitative, with a bibliographic-documentary and field modality. In addition, the level or type of research is exploratory, descriptive, and explanatory. The population comprises the Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo, Faculty of Educational Sciences and Technologies. The sample consisted of firstsemester students in the Basic Education field. The data collection technique selected was the interview. It allowed identifying "quichuismos" terms in young people's speech. The results indicate that Quichuisms play an essential role in the linguistic identity of young people, representing a cultural fusion and a modern adaptation of kichwa.
