Charlotte Salomon: Retratos da Guerra

Through a brief bibliographic review, this article analyses the work of the German-Jewish artist Charlotte Salomon, who died in Auschwitz, shortly after handing over her work to a friend of her family. It is important to note that Charlotte conceives her work from portraits of events experienced by close people as well as from her first-hand experience, including moments of escape from the Nazis. Her life history, full of tragic situations, is represented in gouache from a series of paintings compiled in a book entitled: Life? or Theatre? The uniqueness of her artistic expression, coined through paintings that intertwine with various forms of art, such as literature and music, depicts the artist amidst the chaos experienced during World War II. Art. ; Resumen: El artículo pretende, a través de una breve revisión bibliográfica, experimentar la obra de la artista judía alemana Charlotte Salomon, que murió en Auschwitz poco después de entregar su obra a un amigo de la familia. Es importante destacar que Charlotte concibe su obra a partir de retratos sobre acontecimientos vividos por ella y por personas cercanas a ella, pasando por los momentos de refugio de los nazis. La trayectoria de la artista, llena de situaciones trágicas, está representada en gouache a partir de una serie de cuadros recopilados en un libro titulado: ¿Vida? o teatro? La singularidad de la expresión artística, acuñada a través de pinturas que se entrelazan con diversas formas de arte, como la literatura y la música, pone de relieve al artista en medio del caos vivido durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
