The Saint Ghost, the heritage and the city: An analysis of cultural modulations caused by critical events ; O Divino, o patrimônio e a cidade: uma análise de modulações culturais provocadas por eventos críticos

The article examines cultural modulations in a devotional celebration in the city of São Luiz do Paraitinga (SP), Brazil, impacted by a critical event (flood) that hit the town in January 2010. The flood brought down part of the cultural heritage of the town, which was related to the achievement of the traditional Feast of the Saint Ghost. This loss allowed several assemblages religious and cultural policies emerged in the recovery process of the town, producing flows that have introduced new referents for the reinvention of the feast. Here, we seek to describe and analyze the dynamics of these assemblages, indicating the importance of cultural heritage for the affirmation of social esteem of the town and its people.Key words: tradition, cultural heritage, feast, identity agency. ; O artigo analisa modulações culturais em uma festa devocional na cidade de São Luiz do Paraitinga (SP), Brasil, impactadas por um evento crítico (enchente) que atingiu a cidade, em janeiro de 2010. A enchente derrubou parte do patrimônio cultural da cidade, que era referente para a realização da tradicional Festa do Divino Espírito Santo. Essa perda permitiu que vários agenciamentos religiosos e de políticas culturais emergissem no processo de recuperação da cidade, produzindo fluxos que introduziram novos referentes para a reinvenção da Festa. Aqui, busca-se descrever e analisar a dinâmica desses agenciamentos, evidenciando a importância do patrimônio cultural para a afirmação da estima social da cidade e da sua população.Palavras-chave: tradição, patrimônio cultural, festa, agenciamentos identitários.
