نبذة مختصرة : Introduction:. Injectable Depo-Provera, which has the side effect of delaying the return to fertility after stoping the method, is one of the greatest ways to manage fertility. Fertility return of pregnancy after discontinuation of contraceptive is important to provide effective family planning counseling on the method-specific choice and designing a strategy to avert such concerns and problems . Objective: To assess the duration of return to fertility after discontinuation of using of Depo provera and associated factors among pregnant women attending ANC in public health facilities of Hidabu Abote district,North Shoa, Oromia, Ethiopia, 2024 Methods. cross-sectional study was conducted from March to June, 2024 in Hidabu Abote district. Data was collected by face to face interview using a pretested and structured questionnaire from 411 pregnant mother attending ANC selected by systematical sampling technique from log-books in each facility after informed consent. Data was coded, entered and cleaned using Epi Data version 3.1 software and.The entered data was exported and analyzed with SPSS version 23 software .Factors associated with return of fertility after depo discontinuation on bivariate analysis was identified & finally, a variables that show P values < 0.05 with 95% CI was consider statistically significant factors for return to fertility after Depo use. Result: In this study the median delayed to fertility return following DMPA discontinuation was 10 month. Out of 411 pregnant women 288 [ (55.5% ) , CI: (50.1–58.3)] of women visited public health centers for antenatal care reported the delayed return to fertility for 10 months from the last date of Depo provera injection . Having high income level AOR=1.1;CI [ (0.5,2.1 )] , history of abortion [AOR= 2.6;CI (1.5,4.5)].
