نبذة مختصرة : The article discusses the reasons and peculiarities of the arms race in the modern Middle East. The complex analysis of the economic and military-industrial statistics of the Arab countries allows to reveal the stepped-up militarization tendency leading in general to the destabilization of the region. The author comes to the conclusion that in the foreseeable future reliance on military power will remain one of the key components of the foreign policy of Middle Eastern states due to the extremely volatile international situation in this region.Key words: arms race, militarization, military expenditures, Middle East, mass destructive weapon. ; В статье рассматриваются причины и особенности гонки вооружений на современном Ближнем Востоке. Анализ статистических данных экономического и военно-промышленного развития ближневосточных государств позволяет выявить наличие на Ближнем Востоке тенденции к ускоренной милитаризации, которая, в свою очередь, ведет к дестабилизации регионального пространства в целом. Автор приходит к выводу о том, что в обозримой перспективе ставка на военную силу останется одной из ключевых составляющих внешней политики ближневосточных государств ввиду крайне нестабильной международной обстановки в данном регионе.Ключевые слова: гонка вооружений, милитаризация, военные расходы, Ближний Восток, оружие массового поражения.
