Sustainability-oriented innovation in the hospital environment

This research aims to analyze which internal and external factors related to sustainabilityoriented innovation (SOI) are present at Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre-RS (HCPA). Adescriptive and qualitative case study was carried out. The main results show thatsustainability drives innovation, SOI is related to internal and external factors to theorganization, and, in this specific case, we observed that three factors (safety, financing, andcost/price) were considered barriers to SOI development. Finally, an SOI framework ispresented for the researched hospital organization.
