VER-SUS Santa Maria edição verão 2016: um relato de experiência

The following paper reports the academic experience of multiple courses in the project VER-SUS (Experiences and intership in the Reality of the Unified Health System), which connects the students with the reality and practice of the Unified Health System (SUS- public health system). The project VER-SUS was created in 2002 with support from the Ministry of Health, and it proposes guidelines that are consistent with the current health policy priorities which supports the creation of health care network organization. In this perspective, the project aims to qualify future professionals, by providing the academic experience a new learning space, where they can know about the works of healthcare organizations; understand the development of the struggles of health field sectors; allow the training of professionals with reflective critical eye and engaging them in making the best for the SUS services. The experience took place from January 7 to January 18, 2016, in Santa Maria / Rio Grande do Sul. It helped understand the public health network spaces in levels of primary, secondary and tertiary attention. With complete immersion in the project, visits to spaces were combined with discussions about the SUS concepts studied in the undergraduate course, related to knowledge of the SUS principles and guidelines and its operation. A rich exchange of experiences among the students allowed solving problems and defining strategies for possible solutions by the multidisciplinary team.
