Lanka is an island in the Indian Ocean near the Asian Subcontinent India. Even Lanka is a small country; it has nearly 2300 years of chronicle. The past researches show that Lanka has antique evidence of archaeological excavations related to the Middle Stone Age dated before 30,000 years. After this age, there is evidence for the Iron Age on the island. The history of the island is connected with the spread and adherence of Buddhism in the 3rd c BC. There are many findings through the excavations that prove the classical antiquity of the Island. These monumental inscriptions and other archaeological sources are protected in the museums. They are portrayed to the people via the museums to inculcate nationalistic and cultural spirit in the hearts of the people. Lankan Museum is doing such a duty to keep the cultural evidence with the help of preservation. This chapter focuses to bring out the archaeological eminence of the Lankan Museum.
