It would make journeys last longer and be more expensive, and lengthen the working days of delivery drivers and those working to service contracts with time penalties. And for Donnachadh McCarthy to describe what was a tragic accident involving the death of a cycling as a "barbaric killing" is frankly pathetic. I very much doubt the motorist involved bore down on the hapless cyclist with evil intent. A little less emotion and a little more reasoned discussion will solve the problems a lot quicker.
