      The article features the Energy Improvement District (EID) of Ansonia, Connecticut. The first EID to be built since the state legislature passed a law on EID in June 2007, will house small generation units powered by natural gas, diesel, solar cells or wind turbines to sustain the electricity needs of local businesses. The EID will also be designed to supplement energy from the regional power grid and reduce demand on established power networks. The Ansonia's Board of Alderman is being advised by Washington-based Pareto Energy for the EID project.
