      The article focuses on the crystallization of the compound bis{3-[(E)-2-(aminocarbonyl)hydrazonomethyl]pyridine-κN}tetraaquacobalt(II) diacetate. In the crystal structure the cobalt atom occupies an inversion centre. The atom is octahedrally coordinated by four aqua ligands and two molecules of the neutral Schiff base derived from the condensation of pyridine-3-carbaldehyde and semicarbazone. Condensation of semicarbazide with pyridine-3-carbaldehyde in methanol at 333 K for one hour was done.
