يستيدف ىذا البحث بشكل عام د ا رسة تقدير دوال تكاليف الإنتاج بإعتبارىا تعكس العلاقة بين التكاليف الكمية و الانتاج الفعمي حيث يمكن من خلاليا اشتقاق أىم المؤش ا رت الاقتصادية التي تعكس مدى ما تحققو الوحدات الإنتاجية الز ا رعية من كفاءة اقتصادية في استخداميا لمموارد الإنتاجية المشاركة في العممية الإنتاجية وكذلك مدى ما تحققو ىذه الوحدات من تعظيم الأرباح لممنتج الز ا رعي, كما تعد أيضًا د ا رسة التكاليف الإنتاجية وما يرتبط بيا من مؤش ا رت ىامة سواءعمى مستوى الوحدة الانتاجية او عمي المستوى القومي, حيث يمكن الاستعانة بيا في رسم وتحميل السياسات السعرية ومساعدة المنتجين الز ا رعيين في اتخاذ الق ا ر ا رت الإنتاجية الخاصة بيم, والتي من شأنيا أن تشجع المنتجين عمي الاستم ا ر ا رو التوسع في العممية الإنتاجية أو التوقف عن الانتاج. علاوة عمي تحديد حجم الإنتاج الذي يحقق معظمة الأرباح ومن ثم تحقيق الكفاءة الاقتصادية من استخدام العناصر الإنتاجية.
