نبذة مختصرة : Taking into consideration the constant devaluation of the Unified Health System (SUS) by the Brazilian population, the need arose to investigate in this research work the effectiveness of the use of popular knowledge technologies as methodological tools for the promotion of Popular Health Education, to discuss the right to public health, from the cordel [traditional poem] “The 30 years of the SUS”. For this, it was necessary to involve the students of the collective health course of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte to discuss the issues raised on the proposed theme. Semi-structured research of a quantitative-qualitative type was then conducted, with the application of a questionnaire with semi-open-ended questions and the complementation of the information with the realization of a focus group, with a reduced number of students to discuss the contents on the subject. In this work it is possible to identify a journey through the information related to Popular Education in Health, throughout art education as inducer of the debate of public policies, where the popular literature of the cordel, its origins, history, structuring, and its artistic aspects. Given this, it can be said that these methodologies involving the arts and art education have great value in the popular sphere, because they facilitate access to information, enhance learning, generating knowledge through their actions that problematize the debate on relevant issues of society, especially on health, with the language typical of the local culture and its people, allowing the strengthening of democracy, the national Unified Health System, and citizenship. ; Tendo em vista a constante desvalorização do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) por parte da população brasileira, houve a necessidade de investigação neste trabalho de pesquisa sobre a efetividade do uso de tecnologias do saber popular em processos pedagógicos para a promoção da Educação Popular em Saúde, visando discutir o direito à saúde pública, a partir do cordel “Os 30 anos do SUS”. ...
