Characteristics of Nursing Research Published in Colombia, 2016-2021 ; Características de la investigación en enfermería publicada en Colombia, 2016-2021 ; Características da pesquisa em enfermagem publicada na Colômbia, 2016-2021

Introduction: The national scientific production in nursing has had a growing trend, which favors the strengthening of the discipline. It is necessary to know the current state of nursing publications to continue with this trend. Objective: To describe the thematic and methodological characteristics of nursing scientific production published in Colombia between 2016 and 2021. Method: Descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional study. Six national journals were analyzed, which were published from the second semester of 2016 to the second semester of 2021. The sample corresponded to 285 original and/or research articles. The analysis of results was carried out with descriptive statistics, in which frequencies and percentages were used. Results: Articles published in 2020 (20.7 %) predominate, using the quantitative methodology (65.3 %); the degree of the first author is a Master’s degree (39.3 %), without collaboration from other disciplines (53 %) or students (49.8 %). The central theme was adult care (29.8 %), especially in the third level of care (29.8 %). Conclusion: The growth of scientific publication in Colombian nursing is undeniable. However, it is necessary to make greater efforts to reach better methodological levels that allow transcending the construction of disciplinary knowledge. ; Introducción: la producción científica nacional en enfermería ha tenido una tendencia creciente, lo que favorece el fortalecimiento de la disciplina; es necesario conocer el estado actual de las publicaciones en enfermería para continuar con esta tendencia.
