Moterų, sergančių policistinių kiaušidžių sindromu, ligos aktyvumo ir poros santykių kokybės reikšmė jų savivertei ; The significance of illness activity and the quality of couple relationship for the self-esteem of women diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome

Tyrimo tikslas – įvertinti policistinių kiaušidžių sindromu sergančių moterų ligos intensyvumo ir santykių poroje kokybės reikšmę jų savivertei. Tyrime dalyvavo 229 moterys, kurioms PKS buvo diagnozuotas pagal Roterdamo kriterijus. Tyrime dalyvavusių moterų amžius pasiskirsto nuo 19 iki 43 metų (amžiaus vidurkis 26,93). Buvo naudojami šie klausimynai: Williams, Sheffield, Knibb (2018) Policistinių kiaušidžių sindromo gyvenimo kokybės skalė, sukurta specialiai moterų, sergančių policistinių kiaušidžių sindromu (PKS), gyvenimo kokybei įvertinti. Šios skalės klausimai yra apie PKS simptomus, sveikatą ir su sveikata susijusias problemas. Savivertei matuoti pasirinkta Rosenberg (1965) sukurta savęs vertinimo skalė. Poros santykių kokybei matuoti buvo naudojama Spanier (1976) Diadinio prisitaikymo skalė. Tyrimo rezultatai atskleidė, kad policistinių kiaušidžių sindromo aktyvumas geriausiai prognozuoja moterų savivertę. Tai reiškia, kad PKS sergančių moterų geresnės savivertės galima tikėtis tuomet, kai jos jaučia mažesnį ligos poveikį, nepriklausomai nuo moterų amžiaus, poros santykių statuso ir ligos trukmės bei poros santykių kokybės. Poros santykių kokybė neveikia kaip moderatorius ryšio tarp policistinių kiaušidžių sindromu sergančių moterų ligos aktyvumo ir jų savivertės. Policistinių kiaušidžių sindromu sergančių moterų ligos aktyvumas su poros santykių kokybe siejasi netiesiogiai per mediatorių – moterų savivertę, t.y. ligos aktyvumas prognozuoja menkesnę moterų savivertę, kuri, savo ruožtu, prognozuoja prastesnę poros santykių kokybę. ; Aim of the research is to assess the significance of disease activity and couple relationship quality to the self-esteem of women diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome. 229 women that had been diagnosed with PCOS according to the Rotterdam criteria participated in the research. The age of the participants varied from 19 to 43 years old (average age being 26,93). The following questionnaires were employed: the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Quality of Life Scale, created by Williams, Sheffield and Knibb (2018), specially designed for assessing the quality of life of women diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Questions of this scale are about PCOS symptoms, health, and problems related to health. Self Esteem Scale, created by Rosenberg (1965), was selected for measuring self-esteem. Dyadic Adjustment Scale, designed by Spanier (1976), was selected for the measurement of couple relationship quality. The research results have revealed that the activity of polycystic ovary syndrome is the most accurate factor when predicting the self-esteem of women. In other words, better self esteem can be expected from women that feel the minimal impact of the disease, notwithstanding the age of women, couple relationship status, and disease duration as well as couple relationship quality. Couple relationship quality, as a moderator, does not influence the link between the disease activity of women diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome and their self-esteem. The disease activity of women diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome and the couple relationship quality are connected indirectly through a mediator which is women self-esteem, i.e., disease activity predicts lower self-esteem of women that, in turn, predicts a lower couple relationship quality. ; Socialinių mokslų fakultetas ; Psichologijos katedra
