The ESF mission is to contribute to changing the care model of individuals in psychological distress, establishing yet another strategic and adequate space to work with mental health. The aim of this study is to point out the behaviors of the family health strategy team in mental health care. This is an integrative review, which carried out an extensive literature search seeking to identify and extract information from the national and international literature through the following databases: Medline, LILACS, BDENF, IBECS, CUMED, BBOdentology, State Department of Health of São Paulo and Collects SUS-BR, Index Psicologia-Scientific Technical Journals, CVSP, Municipal Health Secretariat of São Paulo, Mosaico-integrative health and HRH Repository from 2010 to 2020. A quantity of 345 was found available in the integrates that after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 11 remained for analysis. The articles indicate that PSF professionals recognize their theoretical and practical difficulties in dealing with people with mental disorders. An initial attempt to reorganize mental health care in the FHS would be to incorporate the principles of the program itself into actions directed towards this end. In addition, educational actions in health and discussion groups about each patient with mental disorder. It is expected that the results can guide permanent health education strategies that enable the empowerment of workers in the care process, with an appreciation of their subjective dimension to reconfigure the care model. ; La misión de la ESF es contribuir a cambiar el modelo de atención de las personas con distrés psicológico, estableciendo un espacio más estratégico y adecuado para trabajar con la salud mental.
