The present study examined the cardiovascular impact of maternal, perinatal stress in adolescent and adult male and female Sprague Dawley rats offspring .The cardiovascular impact was assessed with respect to echocardiographic parameters.Transthoracic echocardiography examination was performed using the following projections: the parasternal long axis view (PLAX), parasternal short axis view (SAX), apical four-chamber view (A4C), and apical five-chamber view (A5C).The analysis included the following measurements: a) left ventricular morphology, b) left ventricular systolic function, c) left ventricular diastolic function, d) aortic diameter and Doppler measurements. ...
