      In the school that emerged in the nineteenth century, territory is a justificatory and identifiable element, of which the fertility of the earth and the benign character of the climate are exalted. The complaint about environmental frailties and imbalances seems to be almost contra natura with respect to the ideological function of the school. In the 21st century references to risks appear in the school curricula, particularly in the subject of geography, and showed considerable development in the 2013/14 curricular goals. There is still a devaluation of the local scale of the students' territory. Risk teaching follows the tradition of memorizing concepts and rules. In line with the British school, it is important to challenge the student to solve concrete cases, to carry out simulations on problematic situations and to carry out fieldwork and research. Created in Portugal, the project Nós Propomos! (We Propose!), which now has a national and international dimension, has shown that it is possible to mobilize young people to solve socioenvironmental problems that mean something to them. By inviting concrete action, risk learning can and should also be a stimulus to the renewal of school practices themselves. ; Na escola do século XIX, o território é um elemento apologético e identificador, de que se exalta a fertilidade da terra e o caráter benigno do clima. A denúncia de fragilidades e desequilíbrios ambientais surge quase como contra natura. Já no século XXI, os currículos escolares passaram a abordar os riscos, particularmente na disciplina de Geografia. Contudo, o seu ensino tende a seguir a tradição da memorização de conceitos e regras e desvaloriza o estudo da realidade local, do território vivido pelos alunos. O desafio consiste em colocar os alunos a desenvolverem trabalho de campo e a discutirem casos concretos que lhe sejam, tanto quanto possível, próximos e significativos.
