Contributions of statistical variables for the contextualization of affine functions ; Contribuições das variáveis estatísticas na contextualização da função afim

Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar as possíveis contribuições das variáveis estatísticas na contextualização da função afim. Construímos a sequência “Covariação Estatística na Função Afim”, pautada nos princípios do Ciclo Investigativo e do Letramento Estatístico, e realizamos uma intervenção de ensino com 24 estudantes do 1º ano do Ensino Médio, do curso Técnico em Enfermagem, em seis encontros, com 12 horas aula. Os estudantes coletaram seus dados de variáveis antropométricas e os analisaram tanto de forma univariada, quanto das possíveis relações entre elas utilizando o diagrama de dispersão, escolheram dois pontos e encontraram a função afim correspondente, discutindo a razoabilidade de suas escolhas. Os estudantes conseguiram visualizar a distribuição dos dados, no contexto univariado e bivariado; todavia apresentaram dificuldades na formalização da função afim e a análise das relações entre as variáveis ainda estava influenciada pelas suas crenças e não pela evidência dos dados. ; This paper aims to analyze the possible contributions of statistics for the contextualization of affine function. We built the sequence “Statistics Covariation in the Affine Function”, based on the principles of the Investigative Cycle and Statistical Literacy, and we carried out a teaching intervention with 24 students from the 1st year of High School and Technical Nursing integrated course, in six meetings, with 12 class hours. The students collected their data from anthropometric variables and analyzed them both in a univariate manner, as well as the possible relationships between them using the scatterplot. They chose two points and found the corresponding linear function discussing the reasonableness of their choices. The students were able to visualize the data distribution, in the univariate and bivariate context; however, they presented difficulties in formalizing the linear function, and the analysis of the relationships between the variables was still influenced by their beliefs and not by the evidence of the data.
