Comment éduquer au politique sans faire de la politique ? Les revues routiers et compagnons, témoins des mutations du rapport au politique des Scouts de France et Scouts et Guides de France (1932-2019)

Among the Scouts de France and the Scouts et Guides de France, the issue of polity is central but political education is not formalized. Having for aim to train happy, useful, active citizens and peacemakers, these associations develop a political education, experiment citizen participation through their associative functioning, and take their place in their institutional environment (state, church, popular education), defending their interests and taking a stand. Political education for rovers (17-21 years), is built in a tension between the neutrality of the association and the autonomy of young adults. Studying the journals of the eldest branch makes it possible to highlight the clear ambition to politicize young people during the Route (1924-1967). After the crisis of the Route (1957), resulting from too strong a divergence between the branch and its movement, political education was smoother and somewhat depoliticized afterwards, and the international question became a structuring prism for understanding the world. Finally, the transition in 2007 to a review aimed at all adults of the movement redefines the pedagogical and political role of the tool, which no longer constitutes a link between young adults, and no longer leaves room for the expression of the political autonomy of the branch. ; Chez les Scouts de France et les Scouts et Guides de France, la question du politique est centrale mais l’éducation au politique est pourtant peu formalisée. Ayant pour projet de former des citoyens heureux, utiles, actifs et artisans de paix, ces associations développent une éducation au politique, travaillent des modes de participation citoyennes via leur fonctionnement associatif, et prennent leur place dans leur environnement institutionnel (État, Église, éducation populaire), en défendant leurs intérêts et prenant position.
