The Correlations among Self-esteem, Norm Behavior, and Parent-child Relationship of Junior High School Students

本研究は,中学生の自尊感情や規範意識にその保護者の自尊感情や規範意識が関係しているのではないか,という仮説をたて調査を行った。また,中学生の居住地域や祖父母との生活の有無,兄弟姉妹の中で第何子であるかということも中学生の自尊感情や規範意識にどのように影響を与えるかについても調べた。112の中学生親子ペアへの調査の結果,中学生の居住地域や祖父母との生活の有無や第何子であるかは,彼らの自尊感情や規範意識にあまり関係がないことが明らかとなった。また,保護者の自尊感情や規範意識は中学生のそれには直接的には関係がないことも明らかとなった。しかし,保護者の親役割が中学生の自尊感情や規範意識に関係していることが示された。
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among self-esteem, norm behavior, and parent-child relationships of junior high school students. We hypothesized that parents' self-esteem and norm behavior, the place of living, the lives with their parents, and the birth order had impact on children's self-esteem and norm behavior. The data were collected from 112 parent-child pairs. The results rejected our hypothesis, but showed that the relationships between parents and children had significant impact on children's self-esteem and norm behavior.
