The global burden of disease in 10-24-year-olds.

In this article the author discuss the use of cause-specific disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) by Fiona Gore and colleagues to provide new estimates for the global burden of disease in young people aged 10- to 24-years. They point that researchers tell little about the ages that contribute to the cause of diseases. They also suggest that health promotion and efforts for disease prevention in young people aged 10- to 24-years should recognise both the burden of disease in this age group.
