نبذة مختصرة : Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar a relação entre as atividades de leitura e a compreensão leitora de alunos do 5º ano do ensino fundamental do ensino público de uma Escola do Nordeste brasileiro, interior do Estado do Ceará. É alicerçado em uma teoria que envolveu as estratégias de leitura, o antes, o durante e o depois. Este é um tema considerado relevante por estar presente nas diversas disciplinas dos currículos da Educação Básica, Ensino médio e Superior, bem como no dia-a-dia dos profissionais da área de Educação. O marco teórico tem base nos estudos de Kato, Solé, Kleiman, Soares, Smith, Ferreiro & Teberosky, Freire, entre outros. Quanto aos suportes metodológicos, utilizou-se a pesquisa qualitativa que, segundo Richardson et .al (2011, p.90), “pode ser caracterizada como a tentativa de uma compreensão detalhada dos significados e características situacionais apresentadas na realidade” . Caracterizou-se como descritiva, pois “visa descrever as características de determinada população ou fenômeno ou, então, o estabelecimento de relações entre variáveis. (GIL, 1996, p.46). Participaram 63 alunos de 5º ano, a média de idade variou de 10 a 14 anos. A coleta de dados ocorreu em situação de sala de aula e observação (1ª fase) e (numa 2ª fase) envolveu a aplicação de atividades de leitura e produção escrita pela investigadora. A pesquisa realizada revela que a maioria dos alunos não retira da escrita informação suficiente para que se possa falar em compreensão e cerca de um quarto dos alunos têm uma velocidade menor do que a fala. Concluindo é possível afirmar que as atividades de leitura e escrita, devem estar estritamente relacionadas ao desenvolvimento da compreensão em leitura e escrita e que o seu ensino precisa privilegiar a aprendizagem das estratégias de leitura, que levem a autonomia dos alunos.
This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the activities of reading and reading comprehension of students in the 5th grade of elementary school education in a public school in Northeast Brazil, the state of Ceará. It is grounded in a theory that involved the strategies of reading, before, during and after. This is a topic considered relevant by being present in the various disciplines of the curriculum of Basic Education, High School and Higher, as well as day-to-day lives of professionals in Education. The theoretical framework is based on studies of Kato, Sole, Kleiman, Soares, Smith, Ferreiro & Teberosky, Freire, among others. Regarding methodological supports, we used qualitative research, according Richardson et. Al (2011, p.90), "can be characterized as an attempt at a detailed understanding of the meanings and situational characteristics presented." Characterized as descriptive as "aims to describe the characteristics of a given population or phenomenon or establishing relationships between variables (GIL, 1996, p.46). 63 students participated in the 5th year, the average age ranged from 10 to 14 years. Data collection took place in a classroom situation and observation (1st stage) and room (on 2nd stage) involved the application of reading activities and writing by the investigating. The survey reveals that most students do not cut writing enough information so that you can talk about understanding and about a quarter of the students have a lower speed than speech. In conclusion we can say activities, reading and writing, are strictly related to the development of reading comprehension and writing and that its teaching must focus on the learning of reading strategies for the achievement of student autonomy.
