Utilization of a contact device placed on the eye in order to detect physical and chemical parameters of the body as well as the non-invasive delivery of compounds according to these physical and chemical parameters, with signals being transmitted continuously as electromagnetic waves, radio waves, infrared and the like. One of the parameters to be detected includes non-invasive blood analysis utilizing chemical changes and chemical products that are found in the conjunctiva and in the tear film. A transensor mounted in the contact device laying on the cornea or the surface of the eye is capable of evaluating and measuring physical and chemical parameters in the eye including non-invasive blood analysis. The system utilizes eye lid motion and/or closure of the eye lid to activate a microminiature radio frequency sensitive transensor mounted in the contact device. The signal can be communicated by wires or radio telemetered to an externally placed receiver. The signal can then be processed, analyzed and stored. Several parameters can be detected including a complete non-invasive analysis of blood components, measurement of systemic and ocular blood flow, measurement of heart rate and respiratory rate, tracking operations, detection of ovulation, detection of radiation and drug effects, diagnosis of ocular and systemic disorders and the like.

    • Claim:
      1. An apparatus for noninvasive measurement of infrared energy in conjunctival tissue of the eyes, said apparatus comprising: two detecting devices spaced from each other at a distance corresponding to a separation distance between two eyes of an individual, said two detecting devices each including a sensor measuring far-infrared radiation energy from conjunctival tissue of the two eyes, said two detecting devices each being coupled with a remote display, said remote displays being configured to display an asymmetry in results from the sensors based upon the far-infrared energy being measured in the conjuctival tissue of the two eyes, said two detecting devices providing output signals representative of the detected far-infrared radiation energy in each of the eyes, the two detecting devices being maintained spaced from each other and located opposed to the two eyes of the individual at corresponding terminal ends of two arms, and an analyzer/processor configured to compare and calculate a difference in detected far-infrared radiation energy in the conjunctival tissue of the two eyes of the individual.
    • Claim:
      2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the two detecting devices each include an infrared sensor.
    • Claim:
      3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein electromagnetic radiation from the two detecting devices is transmitted along the two arms to the two remote displays.
    • Claim:
      4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the remote displays are located at an end of the two arms, opposite to the terminal ends of the two arms where the detecting devices are located.
    • Claim:
      5. The apparatus of claim 4, wherein the two arms extend parallel to each other adjacent to the terminal ends of the two arms which have the detecting devices.
    • Claim:
      6. The apparatus of claim 5, wherein the arms diverge outwardly from the two remote displays to the two terminal ends which have the two detecting devices.
    • Claim:
      7. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said output signals represent temperature.
    • Claim:
      8. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein said difference in detected far-infrared radiation energy is indicative of a disorder.
    • Claim:
      9. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein said disorder is carotid disease.
    • Claim:
      10. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein said disorder is nervous system abnormalities.
    • Claim:
      11. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the asymmetry detected represents a concentration of chemical substances.
