The article describes the context and methodological lines of an ethnographic research process with Dockers, focused on the elucidation of the problems associated with the logistics modernization of the port world in the city of Valparaíso. It seeks to show the relevance of this social research strategy for the case and outlines the analytical category of "production of boundaries in the port logistics world" as the main ethnographic result.
Resumen: El artículo describe el contexto y las líneas metodológicas de un proceso de investigación etnográfica con estibadores marítimo portuarios, enfocado hacia la dilucidación de las problemáticas asociadas a la así llamada modernización logística del mundo portuario de Valparaíso. Se busca mostrar la pertinencia de esta estrategia de investigación social para el caso y se esboza la categoría analítica de “producción de límites en el mundo logístico portuario” como principal resultado etnográfico.
