      The aim of the study was to analyze the relationship and predictive capacity of emotional intelligence on school anxiety. The participants were 2,670 Chilean students of Secondary Education aged between 13 and 17 years old (M = 15,50; SD = 1,12), 55.2% girls and 44.8% boys. The assessment was carried out with the School Anxiety Inventory (IAES) and the Trait Meta-Mood Scale (TMMS-24). The results confirm the relationship and predictive capacity of emotional intelligence on school anxiety in adolescence.
      El objetivo del estudio fue analizar la relación y capacidad predictiva de la inteligencia emocional sobre la ansiedad escolar. Los participantes fueron 2670 estudiantes chilenos de educación secundaria de 13 a 17 años (M = 15,50; DE = 1,12), 55,2% chicas y 44,8% chicos. La evaluación se realizó con el Inventario de Ansiedad Escolar (IAES) y el Trait Meta-Mood Scale(TMMS-24). Los resultados confirman la relación y capacidad predictiva de la inteligencia emocional sobre la ansiedad escolar en la adolescencia
