- نبذة مختصرة :
As this book shows, care is a concept with multiple, contradictory meanings. We can care about others - as in showing empathy, concern and regard, as we might care about the treatment of refugees in detention. We can care for others - as in caring for an elderly family member where care is often shown through everyday nurturing activities such as food preparation, cleaning and emotional support. We can undertake a task with care - as in doing something safely and with the intent to cause no harm. Care can be a virtuous personal attribute - as in 'she is a caring person.' It is also a gendered script expected most for women, and often noticed more when it is absent - as in 'that mother didn't care at all for her children.' Yet another version of care is associated with worry and anxiety - as in having the cares of the world on your shoulders, in opposition to being carefree. Care, however, is generally taken to be something humans do for other humans. Missing is the care that humans do for other beings' and vice versa. Examples of these kinds of care include caring about the dogs abused in the greyhound racing industry and assistance dogs who care for humans who experience sight impairment, epilepsy or autism.
