نبذة مختصرة : This article develops the theme of the public reconstruction of memory in processes of transitional justice, notably in the context of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) of Peru. The author examines the challenges posed by the reconstruction of memories of internal armed conflict. This problem merits particular attention as public spaces become arenas of public deliberation over memory in circumstances in which, as in the Peruvian case, a politics of human rights is supported by neither the government nor current policy.
