Therefore, this work aims to evaluate a public building and its contribution potential for the generation of electric power distributed to public areas of the city of Santa Maria / RS, in the form of self-consumption. This research contains the preliminary design of a mini solar photovoltaic power plant integrated into a public space for leisure in the city center; It is the Municipal Sports Center, known as Farrezão. As the building has a large size in the coverage area, it is possible to install more modules than is necessary to supply the own consumption, thus, through the system of remote consumption and distributed generation, to produce electricity for other municipal areas. These systems are provided for in REN nº 687/2015 of ANEEL and allow the generation of energy in the Farrezão building to be distributed to other public spaces, where in this work the proposal is to distribute the energy generated to two municipal squares (Scenario 1) and Other public areas such as schools and administrative buildings (Scenarios 2 and 3). To make the study was necessary to analyze the coverage area available in the building as well as the demand of the monthly electricity consumption of municipal consumer units which proposes sharing the product generated by the photovoltaic system. The mini-generation photovoltaic solar energy project takes into account the characteristics of the roof of the building. The installed power required to meet the demands of Scenarios 1, 2 and 3 are respectively 206, 297 and 594 kWp, the latter value being the maximum generation potential of the building.
