نبذة مختصرة : The work discusses family upbringing in the Georgian fairy tales which are given in the books of the Georgian language and literature of primary education. It is generally known that fairy tales play an important role in a child's development. It has an essential didactic function, which is accepted by worldwide education experts Family plays a crucial role in the process of upbringing. It can be said that parenting style determines a person“s future characteristics, therefore many things depend on the parenting methods and traditions of the family. Having realised, the role of fairy tales and family upbringing in the development of a child, we can conclude that parenting styles given in the fairy tales have an impact on upbringing. In addition, these fairy tales are obligatory parts of syllabus in schools. Therefore, studying the Georgian fairy tales, which are given in the books of the Georgian language and literature of primary education, is an actual topic. In relation to this topic, we reviewed research about the connections between folklore and pedagogy, studied the specifications of fairy tales, its parenting value, the importance of family, typology, and functions. We found out that a given issue has not been studied before. Therefore, research about family upbringing in the Georgian fairy tales, which are given in the books of the Georgian language and literature of primary education is a novelty.
