      Acne is a chronic skin disease with increased activity of the sebaceous glands and causing varying degrees of skin damages. The care for acne-prone skin is very individual, in each case the specialist must individually assess the condition of the skin and choose the most effective means for its care. One of the most effective ways to improve the skin condition and scaring after acne is using acids, also called chemical scrubs. Various cosmetic acids are widely used in cosmetology. They are often referred to as “fruit acids” because they are extracted from natural sources. Used alone or mixed with others, cosmetic acids have many positive properties – inhibit inflammation, smooth the stratum corneum and texture, stimulate collagen and elastin synthesis, improve skin tone, reduce pigmentation, smooth wrinkles. The aim of the final work was to determine how high concentrations of acids of plant origin affect acne-damaged facial skin. After analyzing the peculiarities of acne-damaged skin and the properties of cosmetics with high concentrations of acids of plant origin, it was found that they inhibit inflammation, have antibacterial effects, soothe skin, remove dead skin cells, smooth the skin surface and reduce acne symptoms. Therefore, procedures using acids of plant origin were chosen for the further course of the study, dividing the study into two stages. A 20-year-old girl with acne-like rashes on the face area was chosen as the subject. In the first stage of the study, high concentrations of acids of plant origin (hereinafter – HL) were used in a course of 5 procedures. Procedures were repeated weekly and the results were visualized with photographs. After 5 courses of the acid treatments, it was found that acids of plant origin have a strong effect on acne-damaged facial skin. The pores of the skin became cleaner, the foci of inflammation decreased, the capillaries narrowed, the skin gained its integrity and became brighter.
